# Desktop viewer: open a cloud and move around it

> Open a point cloud, orbit, pan and zoom, and colour it by what you need to see.

## Open

1. Install the viewer from “Desktop viewer” and sign in. Pick a cloud result in Files — it downloads and opens. With the desktop licence, also open files from this computer: Main menu (top left) › Load file….
2. LAS, LAZ, COPC, E57, PLY, PCD and BPF clouds, GeoTIFF orthophotos and elevation models. Streamable COPC files open at once and load detail as you move in.

## Move

1. Orbit: left-drag turns around the point you look at, right-drag pans, the wheel zooms. Earth works like a globe; Fly moves with W A S D and looks with a right-drag — in Fly the wheel sets the speed, and the status line says so.
2. Fit in the toolbar (or F) frames the whole cloud; Top and Front look down and from the side. The compass and view cube in the corner reset the direction.

## Colour

Colour by RGB, elevation, intensity, class, return, GPS time, scan angle, NIR, source, density or change between two epochs. Point size, edge shading and the point budget are in Display.
