Desktop viewer: the toolbox, its panels and menus

Where everything is: the main menu, the five panels and how to arrange them, your files and datasets, and the add-ons.

The main menu

  1. The button at the top left. Connect signs in to your Stellaris account; Account shows who you are and your balance, and holds Settings, the library folder, diagnostics and Disconnect.
  2. Below them: open a file or a folder, open and save projects, and download a dataset from the cloud. Help opens these guides.

Panels

  1. Files, Display, Process, Measure and Canvas are panels stacked in the window. Each keeps its share of the height and scrolls on its own; drag the edge between two panels to give one more room.
  2. Drag a panel by its title to take it out into a window of its own — onto a second screen, say — and drag it back to dock it. A double-click on the title does the same.
  3. Panels, at the top right, shows a panel you closed and puts every panel back where it started. The arrangement is remembered.

Files and datasets

  1. Files lists what is open, your cloud results, your datasets (the photos or LiDAR a run is made from) and, under On this computer, the runs made here. Right-click any row for everything it can do, or use More….
  2. A dataset says where it is: in the cloud only, on this computer only, or both — in step or not. Download a dataset from the cloud brings down a whole set, or only the files a local copy is missing.

Add-ons and processing on this computer

  1. With the paid plan (or its free trial), ODMDisplay downloads what it needs from the original sources and installs it in the background: OpenDroneMap for photogrammetry, and the deep classifier where there is an NVIDIA graphics card. A small window says so once; Process → Add-ons shows how it is going and where it installs — Change… picks another drive.
  2. Then a local dataset's menu has Process on this computer…: choose Fast orthophoto, Standard or High detail. It runs in the background — you can close ODMDisplay — and its results appear under On this computer.

Hover over any control for a line on what it does; Account → Settings → Show hints turns those on or off.
