# Coordinate systems and units

> UTM, state-plane grids, metres and feet: what the platform reads and what the viewers show.

Page: https://cloudodm.stellaris.cl/learn/units

## What is read

Photogrammetry results come in the UTM zone of the flight, in metres. LiDAR keeps the coordinate system it arrived in — a UTM zone, a national grid, or a state-plane grid in US survey or international feet, even one spelled out in the file rather than named by an EPSG code.

## What is shown

Both viewers place such surveys on the map and show heights, lengths and areas in metres (the desktop viewer also in feet). Downloaded files keep their own coordinates, so they line up in your CAD and GIS exactly as delivered.
